About Joel Stidley

I began working with Exchange with some of the 5.0 beta releases.  Since that time I have done cc:Mail to Exchange 5.0 and a number of 5.5 to 2000 and 5.5 to 2003 migrations.  I also engineered a shared Exchange 2000 hosting platform before Microsoft released official guidance on how to do so (lets just say I got to know a lot of the PSS guys and each f their families during that project).  Since then though I have been working with Exchange 2000, 2003 and for more than two years Exchange 2007 with the Microsoft Exchange 2007 TAP program.

In order to try to avoid being pigeon-holed I also have worked on a number of non-Exchange related projects.  These projects include: engineering a fairly large hosted VMWare ESX environment, managing a 24 office Active Directory rollout after a corporate takeover, providing third-level escalations for SharePoint, SQL Server, BizTalk, Commerce Server, and the rest of the Microsoft BackOffice products, and I have also done some .NET 2.0 development for small companies.  As you can see I try to stay as busy as possible.

  • My last name is spelled Stidley but pronounced like Snidely with a "t" instead of a "n."  You know like Snidely Whiplash.
  • Like many in my profession I have an unheathly addiction to caffeine.
  • I only drink good coffee, don't give me any of that bitter robusta stuff!
  • I roast my own coffee.
