I have a client that is very sensitive to archiving emails. What I mean by that is they do not want to archive anything. This is a Exchange 2007 box.

My problem is how can I do the following:

1. Disable auto archiving feature within the Outlook clients

2. Delete any emails in the inbox older than 6 weeks.

Thoughts?

To keep auto-archiving from completing you need to apply a GPO using the approproate GPO ADM files from the office.microsoft.com site.

To delete data in the mailboxes you can use Managed Folders. This will allow you to set maximum ages for specific folders, and even create a folder called "non-company info" that has a longer retention so the users can keep their video files.
