When setting up for a notes to Exchange 2003 migration you will find alot of documents that tell you how to set everything to have co-existance. That is ok, unless you are doing a single phase migration to Exchange. Doing all the steps results in a needless wasted of time.

Preform a single setup migration:

1. Fully setup your Exchange box and create users mailboxes.
2. Install your notes client on the Exchange server (I used notes 7.0 client with no issues so far).
3. Give the notes ID you used for the client admin rights on the Domino server.
4. Download and install the latest version of the MSFT migration wizard.
5. Run migration wizard.
* running migration wizard up to the point where you migrate the mailbox will help confirm that you were able to connect to the domino server

So far my test migrations have proven to migrate 30k messages an hour, I tried this after hours on a domino server that was still in production. I was on a gigabit connection on the same lan.

The migration wizard will migrate the messages and user folders from notes as well as the sent items, but will not migrate the trash items.

Your calander items and tasks will migrate over as a single file which you will have to open the attachment, save to the harddrive and then import into Outlook. If you are getting the file (.sc2) but it is empty, check that you have views setup properly on the Domino server. Many times domino admins will hide the ($ALL) view from notes clients so that users dont delete all emails/folders. Right click the $ALL view and click on the 3rd tab, then uncheck the 2 boxes that hide it from notes clients and web clients.

Post any questions you have and I will try to answer them.
