Today someone asked me:

Is there any way to convert a legacy Exchange 2003 "resource" into a real resource mailbox, preserving the content of its calendar and, of course, the mailbox address?

To do this you need to:

  1. Move the mailbox to an Exchange 2007 server
  2. Run: set-mailbox [MailboxName] –type Room
  3. Then run: set-mailboxcalendarsettings [MailboxName] –AutomateProcessing AutoAccept

It's not too difficult.  You can then spend some time looking through all of the neat things you can do with the set-mailboxcalendarsettings cmdlet.  If you have any questions on it please post a comment.
